Discover Laredo's Burrito And Taco Shop

Walking into Laredo's Burrito And Taco Shop feels like stepping into the kind of neighborhood diner locals quietly guard as their own. It sits at 545 TN-46, Dickson, TN 37055, United States, easy to spot and even easier to remember once you’ve eaten there. The first time I stopped by, it was one of those unplanned lunch breaks where hunger decides faster than logic. That decision paid off.

The menu leans heavily into classic Mexican comfort food, the kind that doesn’t try to reinvent itself because it doesn’t need to. Burritos come tightly wrapped and generously filled, tacos arrive warm with tortillas that taste freshly heated, and the salsas actually have personality. I watched the kitchen line for a few minutes, and it’s clear there’s a system in place: proteins grilled to order, tortillas warmed just long enough, toppings layered with consistency. That kind of process matters. According to food safety guidance from the USDA, proper temperature control is essential for both taste and safety, and this shop clearly understands that balance.

One burrito that stood out was the carne asada. The beef had that smoky char you only get when a grill is properly seasoned and used daily. It reminded me of a small case study I once read from the James Beard Foundation about why simple menus often outperform complicated ones-when cooks repeat the same core dishes, quality improves through repetition. You can taste that principle here. Nothing feels rushed, yet nothing feels overworked.

The tacos deserve their own moment. Street-style, soft corn tortillas, topped with onions and cilantro, they’re straightforward and confident. A regular next to me mentioned he stops in twice a week, always ordering the same thing because, as he put it, this place never messes it up. That kind of consistency is what keeps diners loyal. Consumer review patterns published by organizations like Pew Research Center show that repeat visits are one of the strongest indicators of trust in local restaurants, and it’s obvious why people return here.

Reviews around town tend to echo similar themes: generous portions, fair prices, and food that feels honest. While online ratings can fluctuate, firsthand experience matters more. On one visit, I noticed a staff member explaining the menu patiently to a first-time customer, offering suggestions based on spice tolerance. That kind of interaction builds trust in a way no advertisement can. The CDC often highlights how transparency in food handling and preparation increases customer confidence, and even though most diners don’t think about it consciously, they feel it.

Location also plays a role. Being right on TN-46 makes it a convenient stop for locals and travelers alike. Parking is straightforward, and the dining area stays clean without feeling clinical. It’s casual, the way a diner should be. No unnecessary noise, no forced atmosphere. Just people eating, talking, and enjoying themselves.

There are limits, of course. If you’re looking for experimental fusion dishes or an extensive vegetarian menu, options may feel narrower. That said, what’s offered is done well, and that’s often the smarter trade-off. Research published by the National Restaurant Association consistently shows that customers value quality execution over novelty, especially in casual dining.

Laredo's Burrito And Taco Shop doesn’t try to be trendy or flashy. It focuses on food, process, and people. From the way the menu is built to how the staff handles orders, everything points toward a diner that understands its role in the community. You don’t leave wondering what you ate-you leave satisfied, already thinking about what you’ll order next time.

  • Good food And lots of it! Small little place with good food and excellent value for the money. You will not leave hungry. Everything is fresh and brisket tacos are awesome. ( Don't forget the hot sauce)

  • Absolutely loved my visit to Laredo’s Burrito and Taco Shop! I had a chicken burrito bowl and it was fantastic—fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and perfectly balanced. The portion was generous, and everything tasted homemade with real care. Definitely one of the best spots in Dickinson for Mexican food. I’ll be back for Burritos next time!

  • Got a gigantic burrito and a taco. Both were excellent, it's a build-your-own style place, but with more authentic flavors. And the spicy stuff is actually spicy, though not insane. I have a high tolerance, so if your tolerance is mid level, this might be max effort for you. But they have plenty of non spicy options for those who would rather not get in a fist fight with their food.

  • Came to Laredos off peak hours. Only ones in the restaurant but service response was immediate and portions of food for pricing is incredible. I recommend a burrito for the price and you have 2 meals if you split. All the food looked very fresh at 3pm and everything tasted great. Several people came in to order for takeout including some over eats as well. I would recommend Laredo’s to anyone looking for a quick sit down non-fast food place.

  • Literally the best burrito shop outside of Southern California! I have looked for a place like this for over 30 years! Huge burritos, delicious food and friendly service! I love this place more than I love my kids!

  • Like a subway taco shop. It's so good and the burritos are the size of an ole boot. I love this place. Just make sure if you're using the app to order after selecting the protien, don't forget to click the toppings ya want. If you don't, it will only come with the protien.

  • The food here was really good and the portions are humongous!! I will definitely be returning. I ordered a burrito for my adult son and the taco saladfor me. We both ate this for lunch and dinner that day. Both meals we were stuffed. The service here was excellent. Excellent price especially with portion sizes
